Plagiarism Screening Policy

Plagiarism Screening Process

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and all forms of academic misconduct. Every submitted manuscript is screened for textual similarity using Turnitin before it is considered for peer review. Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal's originality standards may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to submit a Turnitin Similarity Report along with their manuscript at the time of submission. The submitted work must be original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, and unauthorized use of copyrighted material.

Editorial Assessment

The Editorial Office evaluates similarity reports carefully to distinguish acceptable similarity (such as references, standard terminology, or properly quoted text) from unethical plagiarism. When concerns arise, the journal follows the recommendations of COPE and ICMJE in investigating and resolving potential cases of plagiarism.

Policy Highlights

  • All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin.

  • A Turnitin Similarity Report must be submitted with every manuscript.

  • Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity may be returned, rejected, or investigated further.

  • Plagiarism, duplicate publication, and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited.

  • The journal follows COPE and ICMJE guidelines when handling plagiarism cases.
