Authorship and Contributorship Policy

Authorship Criteria

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, drafting, or critical revision of the manuscript.

Author Responsibilities

All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are appropriately included and that no individual meeting the authorship criteria has been omitted.

Contributorship

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section with their permission. Contributions such as technical assistance, language editing, funding acquisition, or administrative support alone do not qualify for authorship.

Changes to Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission or publication must be supported by a written explanation and signed consent from all authors. The Editorial Office will evaluate such requests in accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidance.

Policy Highlights

  • Authorship must meet ICMJE authorship criteria.

  • All authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.

  • Each author is accountable for the integrity of the published work.

  • Non-author contributors should be acknowledged appropriately.

  • Authorship disputes are handled according to COPE recommendations.
