Informed Consent Policy

Patient Privacy and Confidentiality

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) is committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of all research participants. Personal data obtained through clinical practice, doctor–patient relationships, case reports, or research studies must be handled with the highest level of confidentiality and in accordance with ICMJE and COPE recommendations.

Informed Consent Requirements

Authors must obtain written informed consent from participants before collecting, using, or publishing any identifiable information, photographs, videos, radiographs, or clinical records. For minors or individuals unable to provide consent, written permission must be obtained from a parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative.

Protection of Personal Information

Identifying information should not be published unless it is scientifically essential and explicit written consent has been obtained. Authors must make every reasonable effort to protect participant anonymity by removing names, initials, hospital numbers, facial features, and other identifying details whenever possible.

Editorial Verification

The Editorial Office may request copies of informed consent documentation or ethical approvals during the review process. Manuscripts that fail to demonstrate appropriate informed consent or violate participant confidentiality may be rejected or withdrawn.
