Abstract
Diabetes is closely related with pancreatic cancer. With the increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), it is particularly important to clarify the relationship between T2DM and pancreatic cancer. The insulin-like growth factor (IGF) system plays an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of pancreatic cancer caused by T2DM. In this review, we mainly summarize the recent research progress on the role of IGF in pancreatic cancer caused by T2DM and aim to explain that T2DM may increase the incidence of pancreatic cancer through the IGF system, to further provide a basis for clinical treatment of T2DM and concurrent pancreatic cancer. © Science Printers and Publishers, Inc.
